Certification

• Certification in Medical Coding or Clinical Data Management is a plus.

Experience & Skills

• Extensive experience in medical coding.
• In-depth knowledge of MedDRA and WHO Drug Dictionary.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, regulatory requirements, and industry coding guidelines.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Leadership and mentoring skills.
• Experience managing coding teams and collaborating with cross-functional departments.
• Proficiency in coding software and Clinical Data Management Systems (CDMS).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Coding – Clinical Trials

• Lead the medical coding process for clinical trial data.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Code medical terms using standardized dictionaries such as MedDRA and WHO Drug Dictionary.
• Ensure accurate interpretation of clinical data.

Data Quality & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Clinical Data Management, Safety, and Clinical Operations teams.
• Resolve coding discrepancies and maintain data quality.
• Participate in coding guideline development and implementation.
• Support quality control processes and standard operating procedures.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Provide guidance and support to junior coding specialists.
• Support proper training and adherence to medical coding best practices.
• Help manage coding activities and deliverables.

Compliance & Project Delivery

• Ensure timely completion of coding tasks according to project timelines.
• Stay updated with changes in coding standards and industry regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of therapeutic areas to support accurate and compliant coding.
